crisscross Gerritsen Avenue and thick smoke pours out through the front door of the Bohack
Supermarket, located between Gotham Avenue and Bartlett Place. In 1968?, Gerritsen Beach
Vollies and City Firefighters teamed up to try to save the building, but in the end it had
to be torn down. The supermarket’s parking lot is on the left, the canal ended at the
