| Here's
a picture used on the front page of the Daily News Jan. 28, 1978. It was a really
cold winter. The creek froze and the ice in the canal was over a foot thick. We walked all
the way to the bridge on the Belt Parkway. Skating was at its best. The view is looking
west from the Bohack lot at the end of the canal. (Courtesy
