Parkway - Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge, 1999. The bridge was opened in 1937 to provide
access to Rockaway. It was renamed in 1978 to honor Gil Hodges, the Brooklyn Dodgers'
first baseman, later manager of the Mets. This photo looks as if it was taken from either
Rockaway or Plumb Beach. |
