Your memory is right on Jimbo. Now for a couple of GBLL trivia questions- 1)Who hit the first homerun? 2)Who pitched the first no-hitter 3)What was John Fetter's number and finally, 4)On the green backstop, in large gold letters, there was advice to all who played. What did it say? Yes BB was very good to me. Had a shot with the Yanks but sustained a career ending injury. Truth is I wouldn't have made it anyway. Did however play in the "House that Ruth built" once. I also believe I played in the last game ever played in Ebbets field. It was with the Cadets of the PGL in 1960. It was a City Championship game and there were a few other beach boys on the team; Norman Johnson, Dick Reilly, Eddie Hughes and Barry Spear. We won 2-1. My Pop shot movies of that game as well.
