I have an e-mail discussion going on about when the sewers were put in and some streets were raised. I assume that it wasn't all done at once. When did this major event in Gerritsen Beach history occur in your neigborhood?
(I wonder if GB is the only community where this qualifies as a "major event." I remember when the former cesspool area in our yard collapsed after we switched to city sewerage. My mother always said the hole was "as big as a car.")
