I have more complaints about software that creates this bulletin board than the rest of you do, even as I appreciate the effort all of you go to in order to share your good old days with everyone else. Microsoft offers this software in FrontPage, the web-editing program I use to maintain the site. In true Microsoft fashion, there is no support from them and limited tools to maintain it on my end.
I don't know why so many half-finished postings show up. (Maybe the program gets tired of waiting?) Other than buggy software, all I can think of is that someone inadvertently hits the Tab key, which activates the Post Message button. If you then hit Enter, the message posts right away. I've even seen one of my own messages show up twice, and I know I know how to work it.
I can't use third-party software because my web provider doesn't support it. So I can only apologise and hope the year 2000 upgrade fixes the problem. We're not the only ones who have it. Rest assured that I can and do delete the spurious messages as soon as I spot them. However, the fix adds extra spacing between lines, which I suppose is the lesser of several evils.
